During our Tuesday company drill, CSFC members had the invaluable opportunity to practice extrication techniques. Members honed their skills in a controlled, hands-on environment by utilizing the "Jaws of Life," cutters, rams, and various other extrication tools from both of our engines. A special thank you to Wappingers Auto Tech for generously providing us with a car.

Extrication training is crucial for our team as it prepares us for real-life emergency situations where every second counts. Being proficient with these tools allows us to efficiently and safely rescue individuals trapped in vehicles after accidents. In fact, earlier today CSFC and North Highlands Fire responded with Philipstown Ambulance Corp to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment and utilized those same skills. This training helps us understand the mechanics of different vehicles, the best points of entry for cutting, and how to stabilize a vehicle to prevent further injury to those inside.
