On Tuesday, September 10th, the Cold Spring Fire Company (CSFC) participated in a joint training exercise hosted by the Putnam County Hazmat Team at the Garrison Fire Department. The county's Hazmat Team provided invaluable instruction, demonstrating the operation of decontamination showers, the safe handling of hazardous spills, and the immediate response to lithium-ion battery fires. Firefighters from CSFC, along with those from North Highlands Engine Co. #1, Garrison Volunteer Fire Company, and Continental Village Fire Department, had the opportunity to practice and refine these critical emergency response skills.

We sincerely thank the Putnam County Hazmat Team for their expert guidance and the Garrison Fire Department for their hospitality and for providing dinner for all attendees.
